The last time I attempted skiing, "hitting the slopes" was a very apt description. Snowboarding? Forget it. Snowshoeing? Maybe. (Although, my daughter mockingly laughs at the suggestion as a sport for the "old." Whatever.) Swiss chalets, warm fires, hot drinks--count me in. Somebody has to keep the home fires burning!

What I do on the slopes my husband doesn't refer to it as skiing. I'm with you keep the fires burning.

Ursula, I completely agree with you, my friend. I gave up skiing after I remarried in 1999, my precious husband would try anything - & he was such a poor skier - I told him I just thought it was too much trouble & that I was quitting. I love being in the environment to this day. Maybe we can make a lovely dinner party together for all the downhiller's. xx's
