I love the smell of paint. It makes me quite giddy in the best possible way! I adore beautiful papers and I am crazy for color. So it's no wonder that long ago when I stumbled upon a website belonging to an artist featuring page after page of marvelously marbleized papers, it was instantly filed in my favorites list. Since then, my favorites have grown to enormous proportions and I would be lucky to come across it again in this lifetime. (Am I the only one with an endless list?) I even entertained the silly notion that I might have time to learn this beautiful craft. Think of the wonderful things you could tranform with these papers!

I felt the same excitement when I opened February's issue of British Country Living. There on the pages was paper with glorious rippling color created in the studio of Christopher Rowlatt, master marbler. I was happy to read that he is quite willing to share all of his technical secrets--a Welsh excursion may just be in order.

And the Winner is...

Oh, I didn't see any of the movies. Was that even important? I just know which gowns were my favorites.

 

1. Halle Berry. I just love this gown! Seriously, can this woman do no wrong?

2. Sandra Bullock. I love the simple cut of this gown and yet it clearly makes a statement. The lady in red, indeed!

3.  Anne Hathaway. Not everyone was a fan of this gown, but I think it is beautiful. The pouf on the side with roses is just so Valentino.

4. Helen Mirren. Absolutely love this woman and I think she looks fantastic in this gown. I hate it when people say "for her age." She looks great...period!

5. Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves. I am so not a fan of Mr. McConaughey but I think his partner looks absolutely stunning in this gown.
