This week, the Emmy awards ushered a bevy of beauties down the red carpet. How exciting to be an actor and participate in such an event! I imagine the hours spent viewing gowns, the consultations regarding hair and makeup and so forth. But by the time of the last blinding flash of paparazzi cameras, the "oohs and ahs" and "who are you wearing"; the moment is gone. Unfortunately, everyone's got an opinion. Just when they probably thought they had gotten it all right, they wake to find themselves scrutinized, critiqued and nominees for worst dressed--a part they surely did not wish to be cast in.
And while there is reward it's just too bad there isn't an award for being a woman (which is not an easy role to play) as well as a mom, and for helping with homework that you understood what seems like eons ago, for being taxi service, tutor, nurse, psychologist, entrepreneur, friend, etc., etc., etc. Because if I do say so myself, I have put on one hell of a performance. (Sometimes I wasn't even acting.) And in my acceptance speech, who would I thank? But more importantly, what would I wear?
I happened to buy this magazine just for the stunningly gorgeous Christian Dior dress on the cover. (A very bad and expensive habit I really must break!)
