This month has been so incredibly busy that I've hardly had time to catch my breath! I've closed out the end of old chapters and started anew and I feel quite alive with the prospect of what the new year holds. I haven't worked the way I usually do but I did manage to clean my desk (a remarkable feat in and of itself) and I don't feel the least bit guilty. This is the time for memory making and I want them to be good ones.
Over the past week, my daughter had an important birthday and got her driver's license. Where did the time go?! It seems like only yesterday that I was praying for her to stay alive--she weighed in at a whopping 1 and 1/2 lbs!
She's certainly a stunner now and just as beautiful inside!
Something else beautiful for the season--peonies!! I absolutely love these flowers. I wish I could fill the house with them year round (and for a hefty price I suppose I could).
Aren't these simply gorgeous?!
Roses are lovely, but peonies--oh my!
I also had a Martha Stewart moment. I actually made my children get out of the car to gather pine cones for Christmas decorations. I couldn't really capture how magical this trail was. I love the sculptural way the trees twist and bend.
This year our Christmas decorating theme is silver. Although Alexander wanted colored lights, he was ultimately outvoted by the women of the house. Girl power! He'll learn soon enough.
Love the dove nestled on top as well as the hand-glittered star ornaments available at Palazzo.
It's awfully cold right now. Someone mentioned an Arctic storm headed this way?!! But someone knows how to stay cozy.
Madeline, our cat, who somehow decided this would be her spot before I managed to plant my flowers.
Now I'm off to the grocer's to gather what is needed to prepare a scrumptious Christmas dinner next week.
